double digits

Today is Danelle's 10th birthday. Wow, time sure does fly. It seems like last week that we went to the movie theater to see Monsters Inc. and all the tween girls leaving the theater were pointing at Dani and oohing and giggling saying "Look, it's Boo". It seemed we had done up Dani's hair in two cute ponies sticking up on her head just like the little girl in the movie. Dani has always had this fabulous smile and ability to make friends wherever she goes.

Yesterday we celebrated Dani's birthday at the bowling alley with all of her Fergus family (except Grandmom) and 3 of her friends. We had so much fun. You can see a bit of Dani's personality in her choice of party guests. I let her choose and I thought for a 10th birthday that she would invite a whole gaggle of little girls and not want her family around. She chose the opposite, inviting just a few friends and insisting that her grandparents, Auntie, Uncle cousins, sisters and dad all be included.

Danelle and her friends Abby, Jenny, Summer.

Danelle said that this was the BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER!!!
I reminded her that she says that every year and she says that it is always true....they keep getting better and better. I told her that my wish for her is that it will always be that way for her. That each year will be better than the last. She is such a positive and happy girl. She must have thanked my a dozen times yesterday for everything! Every time I looked at her she had a smile on her face!

She loved her gifts.....American Girl stuff for her Samantha and Nellie dolls, books, jewelry, accessories, money and then.... an MP3 player and i-dog.

Here is where a fabulous photo of Danelle and her new MP3 player was before blogger ate it and won't let me add it again. Urgh. She was really shocked, surprised and excited.

She couldn't believe her good fortune and all of the amazing loot that she accumulated. She is a very blessed little girl and she is just so thankful.
We ended the night with cupcakes and a song of course.
And she was still smiling!

Happy, Happy Birthday to my beautiful, brown eyed, smiley, fun-loving, double-digit, Dani girl.

Love, Mom ;)
