Birthday Girl in the House!!!

Danelle is such an awesome kid. Each of my girls is unique, awesome, individual and special. Dani is definitely no exception. She has gone through her moments of personality disorder, but come on....she's a girl. This past year was a great one for Dani. She handled double digits with grace, charm, and determination. She set goals for herself and has done a superb job of living up to the challenges.

I love this girl so very much. She is smart, funny, nurturing, outgoing, daring, courageous, and darling. She adores her big sister, is loving and kind to her little sisters (mostly) and helps me willingly most of the time. She is a great student and has been much more self-motivated this past year. She gets up each school day between 6:45 and 7am. She makes her bed and tidies her room first thing and does a pretty good job of starting each day with scripture study and prayer. She does all of this on her own without even a reminder from me (only the occasional "move more quickly"). Danelle's best friends are Kaytlin T, Ellie G, Molly B, her sisters, dance friends and the girls in band. Her favorite color is still purple but she also loves pink, brown, black and turquoise. Her favorite books are fantasy, she loves reading about princesses, dragons, knights, fairy tales, fairies and enchanted lands. She has loved the Eragon series, the Sisters Grimm and her very favorite is Ella Enchanted. Dani continues to love to dance, read, sing, draw, create, knit, sew, play dress-up with her sisters (the younger ones of course) and loves to write letters, poems, songs and create original plays. I am privileged to watch about a play a week and I love the strong themes of the prince (usually Madi) coming to rescue the princess (Always Dani or Kami) and often the princess says "thanks, but no thanks" or rescues the prince instead. She is strong willed that is for sure. Dani plays piano and trombone and has a lovely singing voice. She definitely loves music. Danelle is a good friend and a great pen pal. Her weaknesses are clothes, shoes (she CANNOT wait until she can wear high heels, which is still many years away!), vanity (she also can't wait for make-up and loves to primp & style her hair) and fashion. She is girly, but tough all at the same time. She loves her Heavenly Father and her family so very much. I am very proud of Danelle and so very grateful to have her as a part of our family. I adore this kid and I look forward to her eleventh year and all that it will bring. Happy, happy birthday to my darling Dani girl.
